#LoveServeVolunteer isn’t just our tagline – it’s a deeply rooted part of our DNA. Before we ever publicly launched River City Church, we spent 2 years simply serving the community and meeting needs. In the Bible, we see Jesus meet a lot of big physical needs, even before He speaks truth and love to people. We love our community a lot, and that compels us to serve people well!

In River City Church’s short 5 years of existence, we have volunteered over 44,000 hours into our local community (that’s more hours than our church has existed). We seek to uplift our community and see our neighbors have better opportunities for a brighter future!

SERVE Days

We spend the 2nd Sunday of each month serving the community together! The project changes each month, but here’s some recent examples:

-Pampering single moms on Mother’s Day (this is an annual tradition!)
-Community Baby Shower for 50+ under-resourced pregnant moms
-Christmas party for immigrant and refugee families in the Vancouver School District
-Welcome Home Housewarming Baskets for houseless foster teens getting their first grown-up apartments
-Picking up trash along the Fourth Plain Corridor
-Community Mental Health Day with a therapy llama, sensory stations, on-site mental health resources, and more

Local Partnerships

We are passionate about collaboration, because we can do SO much more together than apart. We’ve worked with over 60 local nonprofits to serve our city in various ways, including:

Clark County Veterans Assistance Center
Council for the Homeless
Evergreen Habitat for Humanity
Janus Youth Programs
League of United Latin American Citizens of SW WA
Recovery Cafe
Vancouver School District (La Plaza program for immigrant families & our neighborhood school Harney Elementary)
